Music
Vision for Music at Allenton Community Primary School
At Allenton we believe that Music is a universal language that represents the diversity and creativity within the world. The Music education at Allenton is created to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and increase their self-confidence, creativity and give them a sense of achievement.
Teaching of Music
At Allenton we use Charanga as a basis for our music teaching, with a weekly focus on either listening, singing or playing. This allows children to develop skills across different areas of music.
Children in Year 3 also have the opportunity to take part in weekly singing sessions run by Derby Cathedral and children in Year 4 have weekly sessions from Wider Ops, learning the flute.
